Hydrogen Fuel Systems

Hydrogen Fuel Systems

Hydrogen fuel systems have arrived. Now you can be assured that the soaring power bills could well become a thing of the past. One of the cleanest forms of energy is hydrogen and it is found to be more efficient than liquid fuels. So tapping the energy present in hydrogen and using it, as a fuel is a breakthrough idea.

We all know that water is composed of hydrogen and oxygen molecules in the combination of H2O. The technique involves extraction of hydrogen from water via a form of electrolysis called plasmatic induction. Hydrogen is released by combining a small amount of electricity to ordinary drinking water. Now to obtain enormous quantity of the gas, a water tanker is hit with the electricity. Whenever the electricity strikes the water, a bright flash of light is seen and in few seconds, hydrogen is discharged causing the water in the reaction tube to bubble. First you would see a few small bubbles and then a steady bubbling throughout the tube is obtained.

Now the same concept is applied to your vehicle so that you can drive hydrogen empowered car. The hydrogen generated using the above technique can be fed to your car engine to work as a fuel to run your car. Hydrogen power can be used for your vehicle in two main ways. In the first method, you can convert your car to a hydrogen-empowered engine. The second method is to buy a car that uses hydrogen. You can convert your car to use hydrogen as the fuel by installing ready-made electrolysis equipment, which you can buy from a hardware store. Nevertheless, converting your car to a hydrogen powered one has a disadvantage.

Hydrogen is a heavier element than gas and highly flammable. So risk involved is high as compared to gasoline based cars. The hydrogen gas generation has popularised the 'run your cars on water' movement.

A car run on water is eco-friendly and doesn't emit to the atmosphere pollutant gases, which is harmful to any living being. Moreover it will save the fossil fuel from getting depleted so that the burden on our future generations will be minimized to some extent.
